Couldn’t we use the NCES Program Type code 0202 – Early Intervention instead of the SIF code S002 – Early Intervening Services for ProgramType?

 I’m not familiar with “0202”. However, the phrases “Early Intervention” and “Early Intervening Services” refer to two quite separate programs. “Early Intervention” refers to the Infant and Toddlers Program (IDEA Part C). “Early Intervening Services”, the phrase used in IDEA 2004, refers to services provided to struggling learners to try to prevent their winding up in special education. We used to call this program “Pre-Referral Intervention”. We used code 0241 from the NCES code set 0274 (“Student / Family Program Type”) to identify “Early Intervention”; and we defined S002 to identify the intervening services program.
