Question:

I have a question on the TestAccommodation AccommodationCategory Code value of S999 Other.  If someone specifies this as the value, does that imply that:

(1)     Accommodation/Code can take on any value beyond what’s listed for all the values under all the categories listed for Accommodation/Code; or
(2)     The value of Accommodation/Code is then expected to be 9999 Other; and/or
(3)     There are then other values in OtherCodeList.
The only one especially important to my final XML Schema work is (1).  Whether values beyond what are listed are possible for Accommodation/Code.  The others might be important for implementers.

Answer:

The intent was a combination of 2 and 3 (e.g. value of 9999 in AccomodationCategoryCode requires a value in “OtherCodeList”). It is possible, but not required, to use a value in OtherCodeList in combination with a value other than 9999 in AccommodationCategoryCode.

APPLIES TO:

  • SIF 2.x
